CASHCOW SOS... Philadelphia Rapper & Entrepreneur, most notably known for creating social media platforms like DayInTheBity, CashCowEnt and hosting various showcases, all highlighting the work of other musicians and general artists in Philadelphia.
To start off 2026, he wanted to let people know who the f*ck he is, and this is how we did it.
Through Cash’s social media platform, DayInTheBity, Cash and I work together closely to work with musicians throughout the city, to highlight their music and give them a platform to perform. Because of this, I also see the other avenues he pursues artistically - he owns a fashion brand, he’s a content creator, and he’s a charismatic host all on top of him pursuing music himself.
When I heard he was starting a creating an album and throwing a subsequent showcase to let people know who he is as an artist, all of these facets of his career came to mind and became the basis for the branding for the show.
The look of each event we do starts with the initial flyer. Based on the title of the show, the goal of the initial flyer was to create an air of anonymity around Cash. The viewer does not yet know who he really is.
Based on the DayInTheBity logo designed by Dante Booker, the established color palette for the brand has been black, white and red.
Going with a predominately black and white flyer with photos of Cash blended into the background, the anonymity factor reigns through and the viewer gets to focus on being presented with a new show + following a call to action.
Once the initial post garners traction, and artists start to join the line up, I make subsequent flyers in the same style to promote each artist.
Beyond just flyers, we as a team collaborate to create content to engage our audience and set the tone for each show. For this show in particular, I played a large role in planning out the content of the show’s promotional posts and designing the typography used in the promotions.
Here is a link to the plan I sent over to the team, but it boils down to this:
Using footage we (Dante mostly) have already been collecting of Cash, and using those clips to highlight the different facets of artistry.
I proposed that we use the clips to highlight these different areas:
The Brand
The Identity and Personality of Cash.
Clips of him chatting up the crowd - him saying “bipppp” and the crowd responding, solidifying his identity with his crowd
The Business Man
Clips of Cash promoting his brand, doing the BTS work of running his shows, prep work.
Clips of Cash’s performances
Information Slide
The when and where for the show, leaving for the end of the video
In the end, I created overlays for each facet I wanted to represent for the videographer to use when creating the final promotion for the event.
Video Promotion
Although I did not create the final promotion for the event, here is an idea of how I would have used the clips we collected of Cash and the overlaid graphics that I designed within a promotional video.
